A CATALYST FOR CHANGE IN THE UK’S HOSPITALITY
INDUSTRY THROUGH EDUCATION & OPPORTUNITY

EQUIPPING STUDENTS WITH THE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & CONFIDENCE tO THRIVE & SUCCEED.

Pub Club is a Community Interest Company (CIC) dedicated to empowering young adults in and around Charlbury by providing them with comprehensive training in the hospitality industry.

Our mission is to equip our students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to succeed in a dynamic and growing sector, while supporting social inclusion and economic empowerment.

Our focus is on individuals aged 18 years and over from underprivileged or isolated communities, who may lack access to further education and employment opportunities.

Pub Club will bridge the gap between industry demands and antiquated skill sets by fostering a sustainable and highly skilled hospitality workforce.

The industry’s high turnover and shortage of skills highlight the need for programmes like ours which provide trained individuals who can contribute immediately and continue learning on the job.

INTRODUCING A PAID 12 WEEK INTERNSHIP - Empowering young PEOPLE with the skills & THE confidence for successful careers in the hospitality industry.

Steered by a dedicated team of educators and industry professionals, students will receive hands-on training in various facets of the hospitality sector, including; cooking, bar skills, front of house operations, food production as well as modules covering personal well-being, nutrition and financial literacy.

PROGRAMME Overview

PROJECT BASED LEARNING

The programme follows a learning by doing approach which relies on practical teaching as well as group discussion and self reflection. This allows the students to develop a greater level of autonomy which not only contributes to individual success, but creates stronger foundations through group learning and teamwork.

WEEKDAY CURRICULUM

Running Monday to Friday, the programme is designed to emulate a hospitality environment rather than a traditional school or work setting. Structured in person teaching will be combined with hands on training across multiple sites as well as masterclasses led by industry professionals.

GROUP FOCUSED ASSESSMENT

The students will work in a group to create their own Pub Club service as part of their final ‘performance’ assessment. This will offer an opportunity to showcase all they’ve learned over the 12 weeks to Pub Club patrons and supporters.

Pub Club recognises its duty of care to all students who enrol on our programme. We believe that confidence grows not only through learning but with one to one support from core members of the team and the wider Pub Club family.
